Accessibility statement

UnGovr builds a single, consistent interface to government across every jurisdiction we cover. Accessibility is central to that goal: if the interface is easier to use than the hundreds of separate agency websites it sits in front of, it has to work for people using assistive technology.

Our conformance target

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We design and test toward that standard as a baseline across our web surfaces. This is a target we work to meet and maintain, not a certification, and we describe our current state honestly below rather than claiming full conformance everywhere.

What we do

• Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmark regions.
• Full keyboard operability, visible focus, and skip-to-content links.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images and labels for form controls.
• Color choices checked for contrast, and information never conveyed by color alone.
• Testing with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation as part of our review.
• Content that reflows and remains usable at increased zoom and on small screens.

Known limitations

Some content on UnGovr originates from government sources and is presented as it was published. Scanned PDFs, embedded maps, and data tables drawn from public records can fall short of our target, and third-party embeds are not always fully under our control. Where a source document is inaccessible, we work to provide the same information in an accessible form, and we prioritize fixes by how much they affect real tasks.
