Data Sources
Government data sources used to build the UnGovr core database
As a nonprofit focused on government transparency, we believe in practicing the same openness we advocate for. This page documents exactly where our data comes from, so you can verify, question, and hold us accountable. We're also transparent about the technology we use to build the platform.
UnGovr builds its government entity database from authoritative public data sources including national statistical offices, open data portals, and official government directories. Entity data is also verified using web crawls of government websites.
The law.ungovr.org transparency law database — covering open records, open meetings, fiscal transparency, oversight bodies, and digital accessibility requirements — is researched from primary legislation and cross-checked against assessments published by organizations like the International Budget Partnership, INTOSAI, and Access Info Europe.
