Writing about us
A few things worth getting right.
- The name is UnGovr, one word, capital U and capital G, no suffix. Not "Ungovr", not "UnGovr.org", not "UnGovr LLC".
- We are a nonprofit organization. We are independent, and we are not antigovernment. Our work documents how government is structured and how to reach it.
- We map, we do not rank governments against each other. Where we publish an oversight status, it describes what is on the public record, not a grade or a judgement.
- Ask us where a figure came from. Tell us which one and we will point you at the register, crawl, or records request behind it.
Our current headline figures are 330,000+ government entities across 200+ countries, with 160,000+ boundaries on the map. These change as coverage grows, so please check with us before printing a number.
