Delete Your Data
This page explains how to delete your UnGovr account and the data associated with it, including data submitted through the UnGovr Request mobile app on iOS and Android.

What Gets Deleted
When you request deletion, we remove the following from UnGovr's systems:
- Your account record (name, email, password hash, sign-in identifiers)
- Profile preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
- Push notification tokens registered to your devices
- Service requests you submitted while signed in, to the extent they are retained on UnGovr's servers
- Photos and descriptions attached to those requests, on UnGovr's servers
What Does Not Get Deleted
Some data is outside our ability to delete:
- Reports already routed to a government agency. UnGovr forwards each service request to the agency responsible for the location. Once received, that report is in the agency's records system and is subject to that agency's own retention and public-records laws. UnGovr cannot pull a report back from the agency. If you need a report withdrawn, contact the agency directly.
- Anonymous reports. Reports submitted without signing in are not associated with an account and cannot be linked back to you for deletion.
- Aggregated, de-identified statistics. Counts and trends that no longer identify you (e.g., "X reports submitted in Ventura County last month") may be retained.
- Records we are required to keep. A small amount of information may be retained to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes.
How to Request Deletion
Option 1 — In the UnGovr Request app
Open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm. Your account is queued for deletion immediately and processed within 30 days.
Option 2 — By email
Send an email to support@ungovr.org from the address registered on your account. Include the subject line "Delete my account". We may ask for additional verification before processing the request, and we will confirm by email when deletion is complete.
Timeline
We complete deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them. Most are processed within a few business days. Backups containing your data may persist for up to an additional 90 days before being overwritten as part of normal backup rotation; we do not actively use backup data after deletion.
